I know what I have to do, but I have trouble actually following through.

I have good intentions, but never get around to acting on them.

I’m a social worker. I *know* all of the techniques and teach them to others, yet when it comes to my own life I can’t seem to get it together.

Sound familiar?

Those are some of the reasons that clients approach me.

You want to change, but you never make the time to take the steps to make it happen.

You don’t plan your meals, even though you know that’s the secret to eating healthier.”I don’t have time.”

You don’t use your lunch breaks to take a brisk walk, to rev up your productivity in the afternoon. “I just want to relax.”

You don’t want to send your eZine on a regular basis, to consistently build your relationship with potential customers. “I don’t like to bother people.”

You’ve heard all the advice and your brain knows what to do, but you don’t do it. What gives?

You’ve got some mindset blocks and it’s necessary to remove them before you can follow through. And I’m here to warn you that attempting to do it by yourself is frustrating, discouraging and will be in vain.

Because you can’t do it alone.

Powerful people (those who live opening and freely as their authentic self) do the work and find the support. No one actually feels like spending an hour to meal plan, exercise when they’re tired or create the eZine. It almost always feels like work at first, but powerful people do it anyway.

And they’re able to because they have support.

So get honest with your excuses and get to work finding an ally to help you live your authentic life. It’s the best way (and I might say, the only way) because you can’t do it alone.

 If you are tired of doing it alone (and failing miserably) it’s time to get real and get support! I guarantee you’ll have all the support and tools you need to live your authentic life by the time we’re done.

When it comes to life and business, lack of clarity will hold you back from happiness and fulfillment.

You waste time chasing what someone else wants.

You waste money on programs you don’t need.

You waste energy worrying and procrastinating (and then feeling guilty afterward).

It all comes down to a form of self doubt that is completely manageable: Clarity.

I’m a guest expert in a telesummit in a few weeks and I was going over some prep notes for my talk on finding clarity in a frustrating world. I realized how common (and manageable) this challenge is for women and I want this post to help you diagnose and move forward.

First you have to identify that your lack of progress in getting what you want IS lack of clarity. I have 3 signs that immediately remind me it’s time to get back to the basics:

1. I procrastinate. When I’m feeling foggy, I’ll decide I need to repaint the bathroom and then spend 2 days thinking about paint, colour schemes and bathroom decor. Sometimes a break is warranted and a break-through soon follows but if you find yourself focusing on non-goal oriented tasks more than once every few months, you’re procrastinating.
2. I give up. I get so overwhelmed at choices that I think why bother and spend a few hours in a complete, whiny funk. Luckily, I’ve gotten really good a noticing when I slip into overwhelm mode and I reach out for support from my best friend in business! If you get the urge to throw in the towel more than once a week, you’re overwhelmed.
3. I chase every new program, sign up for every single teleseminar and decide that what I REALLY need is to learn more about (^{fill in the blank with latest lifestyle/biz fad)}. This is really common (it’s called Bright Shiny Object Syndrome)  if you’re new to business, or making a niche/brand switch. The internet is a blessing and a curse because SO much information is readily available. If you see your calendar filled with more than 1 teleseminar a week OR if you are on more than 10 eZine lists, Bright Shiny Object syndrome could be your clarity challenge.

Obviously these are fairly subjective signs that you lack clarity, but the underlying theme is serious: without clarity you are wandering aimlessly, unhappily, unsuccessfully through life and then beating yourself up at the end of the day when you’re no closer to your goal. 

Once you’ve dumped the Junk not working, you can easily identify what you want and move forward. It’s pretty easy to just do it, when you know what to do AND why you’re doing it.

People seem to think it’s really hard.

Or that it requires practice, or time, or some kind of spiritual awakening.

And that irritates me a little…just enough to write this post to let you know that you can be happy RIGHT NOW–that you can start living an extraordinary, authentic, purpose-filled life RIGHT NOW!

It only requires a few simple things:

1. Keep your promises: Don’t make promises you can’t keep. Don’t sign contracts you don’t intend to fulfill. Don’t take appointments that you will cancel and don’t waste other people’s time on a whim, it demonstrates lack of respect for yourself AND the other party. If you say you are going to be available to help your best friend with her wedding invites, be there (and show up on time.) If you say you are ready to work with a coach and you make the commitment, show up fully. Just do it. You’ll feel better and you will strengthen your authentic self…the one who walks her talk!
2. Pay your bills on time. Like I said, simple. You’d be surprised how many people don’t do this. Stop spending your money on stuff to fill the void in your life while letting the bills pile up and causing Life Clutter (JUNK!) to make you feel bad. Just stop. (Also see Tip #1 for Why This Works!)
3. Listen to your heart, not the Inner Critic. I know this one isn’t a concrete as the first 2, but it’s equally important. You don’t have to believe every thought you think. Just because you’ve always believed you suck at math doesn’t mean you do…it’s quite possible that you’re great at it, but one bad quiz (and a mean first grade teacher) has labelled you a failure. Think you are too old to start a business or go back to school? Think that things will never get better? That’s your Inner Critic and if you learn to tune out those mean stories and concentrate on what your heart says, I guarantee you’ll feel better. Start now.

After a crazy January and early February, I’m back and ready to get things rolling again!

I’m healthy, happy and on a mission to get you feeling the same way

I use oracle cards/angel cards/affirmation cards whenever I feel stuck or need some comfort. Yesterday, I thought I’d pull an Angel card to see what is up in the general air and I was very surprised to get the “Release” card (Angel Therapy, Doreen Virtue).

So what does it mean?

• If you have questions on what your divine purpose is in life, this card is for you.
• If you have and idea but are scared or intimidated…
• If you feel blocked when trying to move forward…
• If you are struggling with what your purpose is…

Archangel Michael is with you and wants you to hear this message: Your authentic self knows what your mission is and is ready to move forward. This higher self is tuned into the universal flow of support available to you and your purpose. Archangel Michael will help you release anything that is standing in your way.

Action Steps (Taken from Angel Therapy Guidebook)

• Take out two or more sheets of paper and a pen.
• Breathe and relax totally.
• Write at the top on one page: “Archangel Michael, what do I need to release to be fully on my path and purpose?”
• Jot down ANYTHING that comes to mind, even if it feel silly or irrelevant (often those things are priming the deeper ‘stuff’ and are necessary to get to the root).
• Include thoughts, visions, feelings, single words. The pen may even seem to write on it’s own, which is safe because you’re connecting with Archangel Michael. (So you can release that fear, too!)
• Remember, note everything you receive, even if it doesn’t make sense right now.
• When you’re finished (it may take only minutes, or may take a few hours, depending on your patience and how much you need to release) ceremoniously RELEASE it. Destroy your fear and obstacles by burning (in fire safe vessel, like a fireplace) drowning in water, freezing, burying or sending into heaven for God to take care of (by attaching to a helium balloon).
• Declare: “I now fully release anything that is not for my highest good.”
• And so it is!

There you have it. A fantastic, intention based, and spiritual way to dump the junk that is keeping you stuck! It’s also a great way to strengthen your inution and connect with  your authentic self.

It is curious that this is also the year that everyone is so obsessesd with regarding ‘the end of time.’ Although, I personally do not belive that the world will end on December 21, I do think that this year presents the opportunity to drastically change your life IF YOU CHOOSE.

Take responsibility for your choices, enjoy the adventures that come your way and expect good things to happen this year in the world; it’s in the numbers!

So many things have happened to me in the last 10 days (since I went underground and offline to celebrate Christmas and New Years). I got in touch with my authentic self again. Did a mini life cleanse on my life. Set new priorities.

My theme for 2012, as I announced it a few weeks ago, is ‘Dump The Junk.’ It’s fitting for more than one reason.

Next year in numerology is a World Year 5 (this is very different than a Personal Year), and the theme for Year 5 is releasing what isn’t working to allow for new opportunity to come in. Christmas is in a few weeks! 2012 rolls over us in 4 weeks! Are you ready?

Since coming out about my numerology services, I’ve been busy preparing 2012 Forecasts for clients who are wondering about timing, focus and why they’ve felt so stuck in 2011! (And will it get better?!)

Depending on what your Personal Year is for 2012, there are some things to look out for! I’m giving a very brief description of each of the 9 personal years!

So,  how to determine your personal year?

Add each individual digit of your Birth Day and Birth Month to 2012.

Example for me that is May, 22 (5th month + 22nd day +2012 year)

or 5+2+2+2+0+1+2 =14

and reduce it to a single number: 1+4 = 5

I’m in a Personal Year 5 next year.

If you’re in a Personal Year 1:

Time to be #1 at whatever you do! Hopefully you spent 2011 (as a Personal Year 9) prepping for this time!

Personal Year 2:

Work on your emotional side this year. Focus on building (or rebuilding) relationships with friends, family, business colleagues and spouses.

Personal Year 3:

Time to express your creative side! Take a chance, do something out of the ordinary and live life in a bigger way this year.

Personal Year 4:

The year of the expert. Read, research and learn! Also balance this with family and home life (so don’t become a total workaholic.)

Personal  Year 5:

Energy is flying everywhere! Great time to travel and try new things. Not a great year for major commitments (although pregnancy often occurs in Year 5…scattered energy ). When things get too crazy remember, this too shall pass.

Personal Year 6:

After the craziness of Year 5, it’s time to commit, settle down and revamp your home. Also a time for learning and education. In year 6, people often get the urge to redecorate or start a business.

Personal Year 7:

This a year for rest. Let things settle and don’t do anything rash. It might feel like life is falling apart…take this time for focus, introspection and quietly making plans for a great 8 Year next year.

Personal Year 8:

Abundance and prosperity are yours if you’re smart. This is a time to work hard, work smart and invest.

Personal Year 9:

A time to let go and clear away what you no longer want and no longer need. Clean the closets, have a garage sale, decide to eat better or change your spending habits for the better. It’s a great year to prep and make room for all the good that will follow next year (in Year 1).

***There is a very brief introduction to what a Forecast looks like. (They’re actually about 10 pages long.) Depending on your other numbers, you will tolerate the ups and downs differently.***

For me, a 5 year is difficult because I’m a Life Path 11/2…which is all about love. However, I can see that having a baby will bring that love to me and will make the rest of the adventurous, Topsy-turvey year bearable…I also know that it won’t last forever AND I have my month forecast, so I can tell when the really rough months will be and prepare ahead of time!
