Who is the woman who stares back at you each morning?

Do you:stranger in the mirror

  • struggle with mood swings?
  • feel lost? Spend most of your day wishing are anywhere but “here”

  • Have date nights with your husband, to reconnect and love again (you married him for a reason)
  • Have date nights with your girl friends! Bond with your girls over Cosmopolitans and dancing once a month!
  • Write a Book (it’s been on your bucket list for years)
  • Run a Marathon (now that you’re in better shape, you can!)
  • Travel (Peru, the Australian Outback and Swiss Alps are calling your name)
  • Say ‘No’ more often (Like to that ridiculous charity for stranded mountain goats that you get guilted into volunteering each year)
  • Say ‘Yes’ more fully (taking your daughter to see Swan Lake and NOT texting your clients through the entire thing).


What would the next logical step be if nothing was holding you back?

Allyson was doing everything “right.” She owned her own business and was very successful. She has been married for 10 years. She has two beautiful children and two cuddly dogs (her fur children)…and she hates her life.

She explained,

“I need to restructure my entire life. I am terrified of running out of clients, and not having enough work, so I say Yes, to EVERYTHING. It’s driving me crazy. I look in the mirror and I see someone different. I feel like a 25 year old. Then, I look in the mirror and I see someone who looks 45, and is carrying an extra 30 lbs. She looks tired and angry. I don’t recognize the woman I see looking back at me. How did I get here? I thought I did everything right?

I went to college, got the Degree, got the right job, married the right man, had the perfect kids, purchased the house in the suburbs with the white picket fence…

And now I cry myself to sleep more often than not, use my bathroom as a way to escape the constant fighting of my kids, and look forward to days when my husband goes out of town because I really don’t like him any more.

I’m fat. I’m angry. I’m tired and I’m sick of putting everyone else first.

I’m ready for me. I’m ready to let it all go. I’m ready to make MY Self Care a priority. I want a fresh start, but I don’t want to have to give up everything and move to Tibet to meditate for 12 months straight. Give me something real, that I can do while I live my very full, very real life.”
