Hi Tanya. Agoraphobia is completely different than regular fear. I'm glad that you're taking care of it with medicine and practice. Just by doing that, you're taking the first step and saying that life is worth the doctors appointments and the drugs. Life is good...you have to discover what it is you want from it and calculate your "risk of success" and your risk of failure and do the best you can. That's all any of us can hope for. Good for you for making the choices that will lead you to success and happiness!

Since you asked....... with me it is a rather hard thing because I have had serious panic attacks; agoraphobia it is named. When these attacks appear, irrational thoughts jump out at me attacking my mind, body and spirit. They are horriffic!
With the help of medicine I calm down the central nervous system to where I can think properly. The adrenaline is at a nice even flow. I'm trying hard to get back to the normal me the person I used to be. I know I will get there. Maybe it will take hard work and prayer but I will learn the difference between a true fear and an irrational one. Your article mentioned the fear of flying, that the plane might crash but you really would like to go to Europe. Does the fear of flying override your joy of seeing Europe firsthand? Well if I override my fear of anything with anticipation of hope, of joy more so then I overcome that fear! You are 100% right on here.
