“Selfish” Defined
I’ve had one of those days…you know the days where you’ve just had enough!
The last month has been very clear for me. I defined exactly what I wanted my life and business to look like and now I’m going through a bit of “chemicalization” to clear away the junk: toxic people, rancid relationships, nasty limiting beliefs. I’m doing the same for a few clients, too.
It’s actually a prime time for all this to happen because I’m about to teach the Master LIFE Cleanse one last time this year, starting in 2 days.
I won’t get into the ugly details, but suffice it to say that I feel the need to define what SELFISH actually means because there are a lot of people out there who will do what they can to make you feel bad when you try to take care of your own wellbeing first!
There are many people who will call you “selfish” or “cowardly” when you have the audacity to please yourself rather than them. Often others will call you “selfish” (because you are unwilling to yield to their own selfishness) without realizing the hypocrisy of their demand.
When other’s call you “selfish” or “cowardly,” their own vibrations are clearly out of balance, and a modification of your behaviour will not bring them into balance.
Abraham-Hicks, Money, and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Wealth, Health & Happiness
So if you have someone in your life telling you that you’re the selfish one, take a closer look at their motives to pushing you into something, they’re probably self-serving.
(Oh, and think of the bad karma they’re building up by bullying you into serving them.)
My Secret to the Law of Attraction
I was late jumping on whole Rhonda Byrne “The Secret” bandwagon, by a good 2 years! But once I finally gave in, I jumped right on, and pushed everyone else out of the way, eager to take the reigns! I did everything I could think of to get more information, buying books, borrowing books, borrowing DVDs, audios and hiring a coach. I was/am determined to figure it out and I think I’ve found the secret to “The Secret!” — it was in a place I did not expect to find it!
I can’t cover it all here, but I hope you will join me for my LIVE call-in radio show on Friday (August 20 at 11am ET/ 8am PT) where I explain the entire thing. (Find all details HERE). I will do my best to give you the Cliff Notes version.
Since discovering the Law of Attraction, my brain “knew” what it had to do…but sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. I kept thinking, “Something has to be missing.” Which, of course, added tonnes of resistance and mucked up everything that much more!
A couple of months ago I listened to “Ask Your Guides” by Sonia Choquette (I also own the paperback, but I do so much running around that the audio version is priceless to me!) And I started to do what she recommended…something I haven’t done if a very long time: I began to pray!
You can be hung up on that word all you want, but it’s just a way to say that I connected with a higher source. You can call it meditating, casting spells, or whatever you want…but it works if you do it. I “pray” all day every day. And it is the secret to trusting that when you ask, it IS given!
I know that feels a bit vague, but try it out. And if you want more detailed info, tune into my show where I explain it much more, including some of the mini prayers I use to get rid of my traffic headaches (I rarely fight traffic), the guides/angels I call on to keep me safe when I’m scared, and how I find bargains! It’s a magical topic and a fun show!
I hope you ‘ll join me live.
Kim

Who’s in Control Around Here? (Hint: It Should Be You!)

Do you think you’re not in control of your life? Think again. Rebecca Rosen reveals why you have the power to co-create your destiny.
In last month’s article, we explored how to determine your dominant intuitive senses as well as the different ways intuition and spirit speak to you in your everyday life. But now you may be wondering why it’s important to be intuitively connected and spiritually awake.
Over the years, spirit has taught me that we each come into life with certain lessons to learn in order to spiritually grow and evolve. Before we are born into our physical bodies—and with the help of our spirit guides—we draw up a loose script, or blueprint, for our lives. The script is based on lessons we failed to learn the last time we were incarnated—yes, I am referring to reincarnation—and those we are meant to learn this time around.
While these particular predetermined events, encounters and lessons are bound to show up along our journey, it’s ultimately up to us what we choose to do with them once they appear. Meaning, the future is not set in stone! We have the power—through our choices and free will—to help direct, shift and shape our futures, acting as co-creators with God, the source and the universe.
As Elisabeth Kubler-Ross so eloquently put it: “Mankind’s greatest gift, also its greatest curse, is that we have free choice. We can make our choices built from love or from fear.”
We can say yes to life, embracing all that is showing up with an open heart and mind, while holding the intention to resolve, learn and grow from our experiences. When we do this, we pass the tests and grow spiritually. But when we’re in a disconnected state, we may act from our lower selves and fear. In doing so, we fail to learn the lessons life is currently presenting, which is what many of us do from time to time. And when we do, similar struggles will continuously to pop up in different ways until we get it right.
Strengthen your connection with your intuition

Many of us have fallen into the trap of listening to and being guided by our minds (ego) more than our hearts (intuition). When we are predominantly ruled by our ego, we tend to operate from fear, doubt, judgment, anger, jealousy, impatience and anxiety. When we’re feeling disconnected, dissatisfied and alone, it’s usually because we’re not striking a balance between our ego (mind) and our intuitive voice (heart).
On the other hand, when we are spiritually aligned with our authentic selves, operating from our hearts and in tune with our higher selves’ knowing or intuition, we tend to make better choices. And when we make choices based in love, we incur more positive and less negative karma.
Karma is simply the process of cause and effect. If you do A, B will happen. Karma (the law of cause and effect) is essentially the same thing as the law of attraction: that which is like is drawn. When we continuously put negative energy out into the universe through our thoughts, feelings, words and actions, we attract more of that negative stuff back into our lives. The reverse holds true as well. Every day I hear the same message relayed from the other side: Everything we think, say and do follows us when we die. Therefore, it’s in our best interest to be fully accountable for all of our thoughts, words and actions and strive to come from a place of love.
Once we realize all situations in our lives—the positive and the negative—are a result of our decisions, actions, inactions and reactions, we can feel empowered and inspired, knowing we do actually have a say in what happens to us.
To top that off, I’d like to remind you that it’s never too late to re-create. Many of us have regrets about past situations we wish we could undo. And while we can’t change the past, we are given what I call opportunities to redo. And how do we ensure a better future outcome? We start by “shushing” our ego and allowing our intuition to guide us.
Connecting with your intuition begins with quieting your mind through meditation. To help you get started, I will leave you with a simple breathing exercise found in Chapter 1 of Spirited: Connect to the Guides All Around You.This exercise helps me get into a more receptive state of mind for both my personal and professional spiritual work, as the breath connects us with spirit. I encourage you to experiment with it as a way to reconnect with your inner being and spiritual wisdom.
Try Rebecca’s breathing exercise

What you’ll need: Five undisturbed minutes. Choose a quiet place where you feel comfortable. For example, sit in the backyard or in a park (or on a bus stop bench, if that’s all you have). It doesn’t matter where you are, as long as it’s an environment that puts you at ease.
Close your eyes and begin to breathe deeply. After a few deep breaths, focus on clearing out your “icky” energy. Take a minute and ask any negative energy that’s hanging around to hit the road. Continue to breathe. Notice your breath start to slow down and become a steady flow of inhales and exhales.
Breathe.
For the next five minutes, try quieting your mind chatter. Stop thinking about what you’re going to do as soon as this exercise is over, how you’re going to meet your work deadlines or what you’re going to make for dinner. Release thoughts about yesterday or last week or last year. The goal here is to stop thinking about the past or the future and to learn what it feels like to be present.
Breathe.
Let your worries and anxiety drift away.
Sit in this place of stillness for as long as feels right for you.

Success = Passion + Intensity + Opportunity
I subscribe to Success magazine. It’s a fantastic resource, full of inspiration articles and stories.
I was reading about Gillian Michaels (the trainer for the Red Team on the Biggest Loser) and she has a lot of things to say about success, health, wealth and being authentic. Something really struck me, though, and I really had to share some of her insights.
Gillian’s Formula for Success (according to me)
“I opened myself up to the opportunities that came my way, and I pursued them with passion and intensity. And when you do that and you stay open, then you allow those opportunities to manifest in ways that they are meant to.”
Oh my goodness! A women aligned with my own self. What a great way to describe how the Law of Attraction works. She also said this:
“Do you see failure as a validation that you’re worthless, or do you see failure as an entry point for learning so you grow stronger and wiser and better? And do you see failure as an integral part of success? Taking ownership of the state of your life, you’re empowering yourself to change it in any way you choose.”
Again, thank you, Gillian…I couldn’t agree more!
Rejection is God’s Protection
“Rejection is God’s Protection”
Is that an awesome quote? I wish I could claim is as my own, but I got it from the book my Authentic Self Bookclub just finished reading, “Happy for No Reason: 7 Steps to Being Happy from the Inside Out” By Marci Shimoff. Don’t let the fluffy title fool you, this is the best of ALL self help books combined. (I judged the title, and in fact, the books sat on myself for over 6 months before I decided to read it. I thought it was “just another book about happiness” SOOO NOT the case.)
Anyway, this blog post won’t be terribly profound, but I was thinking about the discussions we had last night about the book and I opened the book up to share a quote I loved (a different quote) and turned to this page. There it was shining back up at me.
You never know how stuff will work out in the long run, but if you believe in yourself and keep the faith, everything will work out. In fact, one of the main characteristics of happy people is that they believe the universe is out to support them.
So the next time you’re frustrated or worried about something not quite turning out the way you want it too (or flat out failure), just remember that rejection is God’s protection.
Have a great day everyone!
Kim
